Nutribar started in Cyprus Europe. It was brought to South Africa by health and fitness guru’s Jaco Venter and his business partner Jaco Davidson. Nutribar’s aim is to assure you achieve your health goals through nutrition. With more than three decades of experience in health and fitness, Jaco Venter and Jaco Davidson are passionate about curating delicious, healthy meals to contribute to a healthy, happier life.

Preparation Process:

Nutribar recipes are made fresh in our healthy kitchen. We use advanced technologies to blast chill the food from the 180 ℃ oven to 3 ℃ in the blast chiller. We do this to avoid any bacterial growth on the food. Bacterial growth sets in when the food is exposed to oxygen at room temperature. Once the food reaches 3 ℃, the oxygen is extracted from the tray. Our special proprietary blend of food gas is pushed into the package before the tray is sealed.

Storage Suggestions

Option A

FRIDGE IT (for up to 21 days)

Keep refrigerated at 3 ℃ until time of consumption. Usually, 21 days after you moved it from the deep freezer to the fridge to defrost. Don’t consume the food after 21 days has passed. Follow serving instructions for correct heating up method.

Option B

FREEZE IT (for up to 12 months)

Keep the sell-by date in mind. Don’t consume the food after the date has passed. Follow serving instructions for correct defrosting method. The food stays fresh in the fridge for up to 21 days after defrosting.

Our Nutribar advanced freezing technologies are more effective than a standard deed freezer at home. Do not freeze the food again after defrosting it once.

Serving Suggestions

We recommend leaving the food tray in the fridge overnight at 3 ℃ to defrost. This ensures the best quality in terms of taste and nutrition.

Option A

FRIDGE IT (for up to 21 days)

Should already be at 3 ℃ and can therefore be heated in a convection oven (with fan/no heating elements), air fryer or microwave.

Option B

FREEZE IT (for up to 12 months)

Will be frozen and must be defrosted (in the fridge overnight at 3 ℃) before heating it in a convection oven (with fan / no heating element), air fryer or microwave.

FRYING PAN

The second-best option for taste and preservation of nutrients is to heat the food in a pan.

CONVECTION OVEN (BEST RESULTS)

NB: Do not use a conventional oven with heating elements - this will melt the tray.

Recommendation: use a convection oven with heating fans to preserve nutrients and taste.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Poke a few small holes in the film. Place the tray in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Our food trays are oven proof. Do not remove the film seal from the food.

If using a food thermometer (this instrumentis optimal), you can heat the food until the internal temperature is 50 °C.

MICROWAVE

Poke a few small holes in the film. Place inside the microwave and heat for 4-5 minutes.

Using your microwave should be a last resort and it is not suggested as it’s not optimal for preserving the nutrients or taste of the food.
